I am Lee Brooks: A wife, mom of 2 boys, and independent artist based in Atlanta, GA. I can't decide which I prefer: capturing precious moments through portraiture, or bringing vibrancy to a space with distinctive landscapes. So I do both! There are no real rules to art, right? Well, there seem to be a lot of 'rules' in the art world, but as I was tought, as long as you know them, you can break them. I currently work predominately with pastel on Mi Tientes Paper for portraits, and oil on canvas for impressionistic landscapes. Many of my landscapes are inspired by scenes of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in Highlands, NC, where I often travel with my family. My passion for art developed early through my studies at The Westminster Schools and Furman University. After a 10 year advertising sales career, I decided to pursue art as a full time vocation, and have continued my art study under Chris di Domizio in Atlanta. My work is currently represented at Anne Irwin Fine Art (anneirwinfineart.com), and I have also been featured at Trinity's Spotlight on Art show in 2014, 2015 & 2016. In 2015, I was selected by the US State Department's "Art in Embassies" program, to exhibit my work in the US embassy in Tajikistan.
