My work is inspired primarily by consciousness. Consciousness is the foundation from which everything springs forth. The way in which we see the world has everything to do with our mind. To better understand the mind we have to go within to seek truth. We can’t solve anything in the world until we solve the mystery of our our inner realm. For that reason my work has been a philosophic journey to know myself. I don’t think in terms of right or wrong but in terms of awareness. I have come to view reality as a relationship between relativistic and universal values. When we come to know our inner nature we come to know the outer nature of reality. The idea that we are separate from reality or each other is an illusion. If it is true that everything is interconnected we can only conclude that the meaning of life should be to love and to create the most harmonious societies possible. Everything we do to ourselves affects everything. How we treat each other and our planet affects everything. So we should learn how to heal as individuals then largely as a species. Of course that can only come to be through our desire as individuals to know ourselves. I attribute my philosophic and creative lens to a mixture of eastern and western schools of thought. Through yoga and meditation I have come to see my art as purely spiritual and primarily as a means to understand the nature of the self. It is my hope that through my art we continue to discover the potential of humanity.
