Scott Parsons’ creative odyssey began as a young boy in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Motivated by various characters and themes in comic books, cartoons and motion pictures, he began drawing at an early age in the 1980s. Thus began his lifelong journey as an independent and self-taught artist, exploring a multitude of mediums, evolving styles and increasingly kaleidoscopic subject matter. Scott is known for his spray paint murals about town, and the detailed acrylic paintings on canvas featured at Revealed. As of late, he is spending most of the time at his home studio, experimenting with acrylic pours. Immersed in this new medium, he enjoys pushing the boundaries within the inherent organic process, using a medley of techniques. One is sure to get lost, or possibly found, when gazing upon these abstract fluid landscapes and seas of psychedelic color. After spending the majority of his youth stomping around the D.C. metropolitan area, Scott moved to Charleston South Carolina in his early 20s. With an abundance of support, experience, and a like minded partner, he opened Revealed, a contemporary art gallery located in Charleston’s downtown French Quarter. “Regardless of the inspiration, materials, and methods, my work consistently captures mutable states of consciousness, extending an open invitation for individual interpretation and a personalized experience.” ~ Scott Parsons
